Historic Design Freedman's Cottage

Airy, light-filled, renovated Cottage built in 1860. Modern details and interior design, this 1 bedroom (King bed) and a loft guest room (Queen bed), has 150 year old original heart pine wood floors, a private garden, and quick access to beaches and... downtown. It's a short walk from MUSC and a few blocks from the crosstown where you can quickly access the outer islands.

The house has been restored and updated and fully furnished with the right mix of modern design, creature comforts, and historic details. It has been featured in Magazines such as Kinfolk and Cottage Living. It's the perfect size for two couples in the Fall and Winter, but we recommend one couple in the Spring and Summer since the loft can become warm.

With a King size bed in the primary bedroom, and a Queen bed in the loft, there is plenty of space, but note that the bathroom is accessible by walking through the primary bedroom. The kitchen connects to the bedroom, but also has access from the porch for guests staying in the loft.

The home comes with a fully outfitted kitchen with marble countertops and all new appliances and Caraway cookware.

Garden and backyard are private with a patio and a porch for relaxing alongside the house. The garden has a kumquat tree, a lemon tree, and two huge Pecan trees which you are welcome to harvest from!

Utilities will be billed to the renter, but landscaping is covered in the rent.
